Go to any grocery store and walk down the pasta sauce aisle. Literally grab any jar and look at the ingredients. A number of sauces list all types of chemicals to preserve them – including a high amount of sodium. I picked up a jar of Alfredo sauce and instantly put it down. I decided to just make my own and know what’s going in my food.
Alfredo sauce is one of those weird sauces that doesn’t have any origin to Italy at all, yet you can order in nearly all Italian restaurants in the states. Go overseas and you’ll get looked at like a classless American. I don’t care for judgement but especially over food – you like what you like and so what? This recipe makes enough for 2. And you can see from the ingredients below just how simple this recipe is but trust me, it certainly doesn’t taste simple.

Enjoy this homemade Aflredo sauce recipe with fish, chicken or a veggie option but just enjoy it!

Ingredients:
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 3 cloves of garlic
- 3/4 cup of grated Parmigiano Reggiano
- Dash of pepper
- 3 Tbs of unsalted butter
Directions:
- Melt butter on medium
- Then add garlic, sauté for 5 minutes until slightly browned
- Turn temp to low. Add in heavy cream, start whisking continuously. Do not let boil.
- Add in cheese, pepper
- Continue to whisk
- Once the mixture can coat the back of a spoon, it’s ready.
