I’ll admit, Taco Salad isn’t the fanciest or the most gourmet but it’s quick and it’s delicious. Sometimes you just want a hot, scrumptious meal that doesn’t take long to make when you’ve got a hectic schedule. Plus you can go crazy with the condiments and setup a whole taco bar. Think big! Diced tomatoes, onions, cheese, salsa, avocado, hot sauce, chorizo, etc. The fun part is when you are entertaining, making it festive! Ingredients
- 2 bags of tortilla chips of your choice
- 1 packet of taco seasoning (if you like a little spice, go for mild)
- 1 15 oz. can of tomato sauce (I used paste in the recipe and had to use water. If you use tomato sauce, you can forgo the extra step)
- 1 pound of lean beef
- 2 28 oz. cans of Pork and Beans in Tomato Sauce
- Sharp Cheddar Cheese (size depends on how much cheese you prefer)
- Shredded lettuce
- White onion
- Tomato
- Homemade salsa
Directions
- Cook meat on medium. Cook until nearly all the pink is gone. Empty out fat in a container, throw fat out in trash.
- Add in the pork and beans, turn heat to a little above low.
- Add in taco seasoning, tomato sauce.
- Stir everything together and let simmer for 5-10 minutes on medium.
- While everything is simmering, prepare your condiments.
- Serve however you eat your taco salad and ENJOY!
