The holidays are coming up which means tons of social engagements. They can be fun but when you don’t know what to bring, it can get a little stressful. Of course, you can always bring a bottle of wine. But how about bringing an appetizer that is so easy yet incredibly delicious? I vote an emphatic YES.
We’re talking meatballs, folks! But mini, cute, big-flavored meatballs! All you need is about 10 minutes to mix everything up, then let it cook for 1 hr 30 minutes. So if you have a function at 7 p.m., just start it at 5 p.m. and you’re ready to go! I’d bring a mini crock pot though to ensure these stay hot.

Check out the recipe below and enjoy!
Ingredients
- Dark Brown Sugar (1 cup)
- Heinz Chili Sauce (12 oz)
- Jellied Cranberry Sauce (14 oz)
- Shredded Sauerkraut (14.5 oz)
- Lean Beef (1 lb.)
- Onion Soup & Dip (2 oz)
- Plain Bread Crumbs (1 cup)
- 2 large eggs (optional)
Directions (Mainly 3 steps)
- Preheat oven to 350. In a large bowl, mix bread crumbs, soup mix and eggs. Add beef, mix lightly. Shape into 1-inch balls. Ideally place in a 13×9 pan but if you have a smaller pan (like I used because I was out of foil), it will work too.
- In a large saucepan, combine sauce ingredients (chili sauce, cranberry sauce, drained sauerkraut, brown sugar), bring to just a boil. Pour over uncooked meatballs in a 13×9 baking dish.
- Bake, covered for 1 hour. Uncover, bake 20-30 minutes until sauce is thickened.
You’re ready to serve!
